Willing Heart

A willing heart means to surrender- surrender self to the will of God. So this means once we are saved, we shouldn’t continue to do the same things we were doing before. If we are meant to be different/ set apart, then why do we still look and act like the world? It says in the word to come out from among them. It's up to us to live a life according to His word. Granted the journey is hard-it takes time to let go of habits, but it also takes a made up mind and willing heart too. We all know the saying “If you really want to, you will. If you don’t want to, you won’t!” It's also no different from the saying, “You’ll make time for who you want!” So basically, if you want to make time for God and really allow him completely in your life, you will and nothing should stop you. With this walk, I had to believe in myself and take action. In the same way, faith itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead (James 2:17).
Holy and righteous living is not hard unless you make it hard-the more willingness you put in, the easier it can become. If there are close family and friends who won’t support you, then so be it. God will replace them with those who will support you or will want to go on the journey with you. Believe me when I say, this walk was the best decision I ever made. We’re not perfect people, but God is. He’s done so much for us not to give Him the respect He deserves. It's better to admit you’ve done wrong or need to do better than to act like you’ve done no wrong or act so perfectly. Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy (Proverbs 28:13).
I know it can be tiring going back to the same mistakes over and over again. When you feel yourself slipping, you have to be strong in the flesh and know how to pick yourself back up again. If you do mess up- pray for repentance, or if needed take the steps to rededicate your faith. We all sin, whether we know it or not, but it's up to us if we stay in that sin. God’s eyes are to and fro, He can see every action and thought we make. At the end of the day it's all about your heart posture. God knows your heart and the things you struggle with. Also keep in mind, God wants to see effort on your part- if you truly want to be transformed, put in the work for it. We work hard for the natural things we want, so why not the spiritual?
However, make the decision when YOU are ready, not when you feel peer pressure. God will give you that nudge and only you will know when that time comes.
When I want to reach a place in God, I know it takes time and dedication. Even when I have no energy to do anything, I know I have to fight spiritually. I may need to read, pray and fast more- whatever it takes to get where I need to be. I know I have to come to God with a willing heart and I trust that He will meet me where I am. He will do the same for you, along with protecting and sustaining you. Give Him your heart for He wants you to be as close to Him as possible. He’s always there with open arms, waiting on you.
Philippians 3:13-14 Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
1 Chronicles 28:9 “serve him with wholehearted devotion and with a willing mind, for the Lord searches every heart and understands every desire and thought. If you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will reject you forever.”
2 Corinthians 6:17 Therefore, “Come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you.”
