Transition

Ever feel like you’re in a weird space? Like you’re not exactly where you want to be yet, but you can tell that you are well on your way.  It’s a transition phase-the change that occurs on your journey. Sometimes it’s not the best feeling but it’s also not the worst. It’s feelings of being stuck, uncertain, scared, happy and sad all rolled into one. Sadness may come when realizing that there are old things that need to be left behind but then happiness comes with the expectation for something new . Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new (2 Corinthians 5:17). Also there may be feelings of wanting the new to hurry to come, because this stagnant feeling is just truly not the most comfortable. So how can we embrace where we are? Honestly, just sit with the emotions. Whatever emotion may arise at the moment, just let it settle. Sometimes we have to let that cry out or that frustration because immediately after we feel better. What good is bottling up anything? Even Jesus reminds us to cast every anxious thought- Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God (Philippians 4:6). This helps us not to stay in that place of emotion. I admit I’m even guilty of trying to rush my feelings or block them out with distractions. Although distractions can help for the moment, in the end it doesn’t take away our feelings. Only Jesus can do that. Jesus places us in these transitional seasons for a reason. Jesus can break these emotions down into peace-and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). This transition is for the greater that God has planned for us- For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). The world could come crashing down all around us but God will move us right along in the way that He has destined for us to go. A man's heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps (Proverbs 16:9).

Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6).

The transition stage is where God is building you up. Building you to be able to walk into your destiny. No matter what the stage looks like, it plays into your future. Just like when you are planning out something, you make sure you take the necessary steps to prepare for it . God is preparing us for what He has next. Transition means to shift and change, so you automatically know that what you are sitting in is not going to last. To be honest, the transition in Christ never ends. Even in death we go through a transition- it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body (1 Corinthians 14:44),

And as we have borne the image of the man of dust, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly Man (1 Corinthians 15:49).

We are constantly being pruned through this walk- Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit (John 15:2). We shouldn't worry so much about the higher spaces we can go naturally because on this walk it's about the higher we should be going spiritually. The transition can help you see the more that God is doing in you and for you, as well as who He is. This should result in a deeper reverence for Him-so we say yes too transition!

The transition stage may feel great or it may feel all over the place, but through it all we have to count it all joy. Joy because this stage is needed for us. Joy for the shift , joy for the new perspective of opportunities and joy for the change within ourselves. Doesn’t it feel good to know God meets us where we are but He doesn’t leave us there? He is using us to be apart of the greater good in this broken world.

So even though this space may feel weird, with all its ups and downs, remember that you are well on your way to all that God has for you -Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me (Philippians 3:12).

2 Corinthians 4:16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day

Romans 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God

Philippians 3:14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus
