Wait In Love
Updated: Apr 16, 2023

Single? Waiting for an spouse. Dating? Waiting for a ring. Married? Waiting for children. Waiting for the job, house, car, etc. The cycle seems to never end, we get one thing then we want the next. What if your waiting season is exactly where you're supposed to be? What if God has specific plans for you before the next best thing comes? God recently told me that He knows exactly what He has for me and this season I am in is what I need.
Maybe you are waiting on other things, such as an breakthrough or just a simple change in your life. Romans 12:2-Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction and faithful in prayer. Never lose sight in the waiting process. Remember whatever you may be waiting for won't compare to the love God gives. Nothing or no one will satisfy your needs. I can't tell you how many times I know God has saved me from failed situations that I'm sure my flesh would've held on too. Whether its situations, friendships, relationship, habits, cycles, etc. God can and will change things around for you.
Ecclesiastes 3:1-There is a time for everything and a season for every activity under the heavens. There is a process that has to take place during your life. God has to mold and shape not only you, but even the people, places and situations that come about. God strategically does this, so in that case your waiting phase may last weeks, months or even years! This is because God loves you, He knows what's best for you and would not lead you wrong. For example, my current job- I had an interview with this job in 2018 (fresh out of college) and I did not get it. Fast forward 3 years later in 2021, I applied again and got the job! During that waiting season, I never stopped believing in God. There was a lot of crying, disappointment and frustration at first but I never gave up. My faith started to build and I trusted that even if I didn't get that job, I knew God was still going to bless me. I later realized in the addition of building my faith, God had me stay at my old job longer so I could pick up more experience and tools to implement on my new job. I truly don't think I would have been as prepared for the job in 2018 as I was in 2021. All of this is to say the waiting season IS beneficial!
Love the space you're in. Learn to love contentment. Love the route that God has placed you on. Love God even more for looking out for you. There is no telling what may come your way if you try to move at your own pace. Ask God for more of his patience. Love the fact that God knows best. Literally, God is your protection and He may be teaching you valuable lessons in the waiting. The waiting could be building trust, faith or any internal factors that may be needed. There may even be failures, setbacks or losses along the way but God is in full control. Things happen for His purpose and plan. Instead of getting discouraged, praise Him for what He's doing. You might can't see it but believe He's moving. The longer I wait on my prayers, the more excitement He fills in me because I know He will fulfill my desires! Trust Him in your season. Wait in love.
