Same God

It's how the rain clouds come dark and stormy

Yet on the other side of the sky is clear and blue

It’s how the clouds move with grace to reveal a shining sun

It’s how the wind may blow stronger on one side of the street

Causing the trees to sway or be still

It’s how the moonlight shines

Yet the dark sky makes it’s still hard to see around

It’s how the bird chirps to sing a song

It’s how the promise God made back then

Is still fulfilling to this very day

It’s how I know God brought me out more than once

So who is to say He can’t do it again?

It’s His love that carries me through

Thick and thin

No matter where I am or where I go

It’s the moment I wake up and lay down

It’s the moment I cry, smile, laugh or sing

It’s Jesus who created

Every existence, every being, every moment

From the very beginning to its end

It’s Him who is the beauty in the midst of the pain

It’s the Holy Spirit who can be in me and you

All at the same time

Who causes me, you and the flowers to grow

Who fills with seeds of insight and what to know

I believe it's God who sheds the tears

When we choose not to be near

It’s the same God who gave His life

But we treat Him different

When our own life is not a pretty sight

It’s the moments we don’t realize how idols can change us

In the blink of an eye, whether its money, fame, people or greed

We forget all about the small mundane things

The sky, rain, birds, flowers and trees

He is life more abundantly, more expectantly, more serene

It’s how He still chooses to intercede with love, mercy, grace and favor

 Do we realize that

It’s Jesus Christ

That is the same, yesterday, today and forever.

Sometimes I can get in my head about if I’m truly doing enough. Or sometimes I’ll wonder if I’m doing too much. The truth of the matter is, there is probably never too much that you can do in God. He
