Identity

There are so many scriptures that explain or describe who you are in Christ.  We are called blessed, safe, victorious, chosen, overcome, wonderful, righteous, beautiful, treasure, etc the list can go on and on. However, we can’t let the distractions of the world or even our circumstances take that identity away from us. We can’t lose out on our focus of how God created us. Don’t let go of that God given dream or walk of life He set you on. Don’t slip back into old habits or thinking. God doesn’t see you in the picture that the world paints for you. What we go through doesn’t define us and it shouldn’t set us back. You were created in His image - you are a child of light. “Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness” (1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5‬:‭5‬).

To be victorious means to have triumph over an obstacle. So, because of knowing my identity in Christ, I know I can overcome anything. “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world” (1 John‬ ‭4‬:‭4). I also know that I can receive the things I ask for, according to His will. “For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened”(Luke‬ ‭11‬:‭10). “And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us” (1 John‬ ‭5‬:‭14‬ ). Although every prayer may not be guaranteed for us to have, we still have the victory in a no from the Lord. That no could be for a specific reason, it could be for the best. “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose” (Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭28‬). This scripture also speaks upon our identity. As Christ followers, the things we go through are for the good of His purpose. We should always want His purpose over our own. Though it may not feel good, it’s for the greater good! With this goodness we are stronger! “Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us”

‭‭(Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭37‬).

As a believer, we can never give up hope. Because of the God we serve, we can embrace the faith that moves mountains! We can rest in his undeniable peace! We can proclaim power over our lives! We can defeat the enemy’s lies with the Word! We can take back and walk in our freedom! We are the heirs of the one and only TRUE KING! There is nothing that can stop us but  ourselves! There is no one greater or as great as Jesus. We have the opportunity to abide and walk with Him now and forever. Never forget what He has done in the past and what he can and will do for you.

“Remember who you are,” thus says the Lord.

Romans 8:14 “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.”

‭‭

1 John 4:6 “We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.”

2 Corinthians 6:18 “And will be a Father unto you, And ye shall be my sons and daughters,” saith the Lord Almighty.

1 Peter 2:9 “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:”
