High Hopes

Over the course of my 20's locking my keys in the car has ALWAYS been an issue for me, but this most recent time was special. I had just got home from the grocery store when I was unloading the car. I must have thought I had them in my hands, but there I was looking through the window of a locked door at my keys on the passenger seat. Immediately I was frustrated because I was tired, it was getting dark outside and I already knew an roadside service was going to take forever. I scheduled for a service to come out to me and waited an hour for the guy to come. Once he got there, he got my keys out and it was time to pay. Now, the price was significantly high but I had no choice to pay. When it was time to put in my card information, the system had locked the guy out. As he was calling around to his co-workers to get back in the system, I immediately started talking to God. “God is this you? Am I going to get a free service tonight?” My hopes were HIGH. This may seem silly to think, but I trust God even for the little things! I was so determined that God was looking out for me. I just knew I wasn't going to have to pay anything that night. But eventually, they were able to get back into the system so I did end up paying for the service. As I walked back into the house, I did feel a little upset because I felt as if the price could've been lower. As the night went on, I was so inquisitive about the situation and didn't know why. I asked God, “Why did that situation happen to me? I know it's not really a big deal, but why am I so curious right now?” Immediately I heard God tell me, “I allowed that situation to happen to show you to never lose faith. It is ok for you to have high hopes, but also keep in mind that you may or may not get what you always desire. You have to trust me- something better could be coming.” I took in the response and for the rest of the night I thought nothing else of it.

Two days later something miraculous had happened! I had received all my money back and it was double the amount I had paid the night before! You can't tell me that wasn't God! I felt so emotional because I didn't see it coming, but God did! God saw fit to bless me! He used my situation in part of teaching me a valuable lesson. If God did it for me, he can do the same for you!

As I look back over the answered prayers that I have received, I didn't always get EXACTLY every detail that I might've asked for, but I have received a good amount of my prayers, plus more. Romans 8:28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

You can NEVER lose faith in any situation! Believe that God CAN do the impossible. Even if He doesn't answer your prayer, believe that GREATER is coming! What you pray for may not be what God desires for you to have. His will is much better than ours. Always trust Him even when things don't go as planned. God moves in His own way in His timing.

Proverbs 3:5 -Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding

James 1:17- Every good gift and perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.

Hebrews 1:17- Now faith is substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Sometimes I can get in my head about if I’m truly doing enough. Or sometimes I’ll wonder if I’m doing too much. The truth of the matter is, there is probably never too much that you can do in God. He
