Hiding Place

I was listening to a song called God Problems by Maverick City, and there is a part in the song where the lyrics say, “He’s my hiding place,” and as I was singing, it was like I could feel God’s presence shielding me like a blanket. It’s so refreshing to know that God protects you from anything that comes your way. I admit I can worry too much over things, but I have to remember that the things that I worry about is exactly what God is shielding me from. This is why He constantly reminds me to rest in Him- Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest (Matthew 11:28). There is literally nothing that He can’t do- nothing is impossible, too big or small. Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us (Ephesians 3:20).
Sometimes we let our problems consume us to the point where they seem bigger than we are, but God is way bigger. He is your hiding place- He is taking care of all things. He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty (Psalm 91:1).
In His presence is where your body can rest and all control can be released- all anxiety, all worries, every thought . It’s assurance that Jesus is there. His shield of the hiding place produces all you need in that moment to succeed. Whether it’s love, comfort, encouragement, peace, plus more- Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need (Hebrews 4:16), its all wrapped into one. It’s protection from the enemy trying to make you spiral out of control. Safe in his arms is a whole new meaning once in the hiding place. It’s literally nobody else but you and Jesus. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 8:38-39).
You are forever in that space with Jesus. There is growth, restoration, healing, refining and all things new. “But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, Neither have entered into the heart of man, The things which God hath prepared for them that love him” (1 Corinthians 2:9). I don’t know about you, but this a space I want to stay forever.
It’s also comforting to know that Jesus chose us to experience this life. “Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you”(John 15:16). Sometimes we take for granted where we have been placed in life and often times we compare to our peers. But this scripture alone shows how set apart we are . However this is only for those who decide to meet Jesus in the hiding place. There is no other place that we should be striving to be, because that place is Jesus. Yes, the unknown can be scary but you can trust that Jesus would not leave you stranded. Also, nothing and no one can mess with you in the hiding place. “So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me” (Hebrews 13:6).
Remember it’s not just about what He can do, but it’s who He is- Jesus can and will be your hiding place and you are safe there.
Because the Lord is my shepherd
I have everything I need
He lets me rest in the meadow's grass
And He leads me besides the quiet streets
He restores my failing hands
And helps me to do what honors
That's why I'm safe
That's why I'm safe
That's why I'm safe
Safe in His arms
