Focus

Can we all admit that sometimes we tend to dwell on all the things we don't see in front of us? It seems like we give and do so much for people but seem to never get the favor returned back to us. A recent thought of mine was, "I deserve so many things but I don't see anything happening for me, I feel as if I'm missing out." God instantly told me, "I have gave you everything you need- love, mercy, grace, peace, joy, forgiveness...." and the list goes on. When my faith in God starts to become shaky, I have to remember where my hope lies. The joy of the Lord is my strength! Though things may seem the same around us, only God can control the tangible. When we dwell on what we don't have that could make it harder to hear from God or even see the things that He has already provided. If we regain our focus on all the SPIRITUAL aspects, then that will override the natural. Thinking of the goodness of Jesus can instantly change your mood of weariness. Focus on heavenly things and take your mind off the worldly.
God will supply all your needs and He wants to give you the desires of your heart. We also have to remember that God will give according to His timing. Constantly remind yourself that things will fall into place for you, according to His will. God knows what's troubling you, so in return He gives you peace over all situations. We can't focus so much on our emotions and feelings, but instead focus on His word. When you are feeling down, pick out scriptures that remind you of who God is and what He can do for you. Don't lose sight of the value over your life. Pray against any distractions that may keep your focus away from God. We are not meant to focus on anything else besides God's purpose for ourself. The more attention I gave God, the more of his love and presence I could feel.
Be encouraged when you see others thriving and have the faith that the same will happen for you! Don't beat yourself up if you are not where you want to be in life, continue to stay focused! God is doing a work in you and He sees your potential! When you start to think about all the things you don't have, knock those thoughts down with praise and thanksgiving over all the things you DO have! I always tell myself, "Be grateful for what you do have because there is always someone out there wishing they had the same." We tend to take for granted all the small things in life, when there are so many people suffering without.
Focus on Jesus and His will. Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. Hebrews 11:1
"Why my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise Him, my Savior and my God." Psalms 42:5
Finally, brothers and sister, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable-if anything is excellent or praiseworthy-think about such things. Philippians 4:8
Find your identity in Christ
Offer a sacrifice of praise and thankfulness always
Control your thoughts with peace
Unite with God through His word
Start believing His promises!
