Cherish what you have while you have it.
Some people would die to be in your shoes because they don’t even have a percentage of what you got. I work with people everyday who are in dire need of housing, water, food, a job and so many more necessities. They don’t have the access to it, but you do! It’s things that I am waiting on God to do for me, but while I’m still in this season I have to appreciate where I am. I also have to remember that it doesn’t have to be this way either. God can turn everything around in the blink of an eye. You can lose everything you got the same way you gained it. Think about Job- he lost everything! From his family to his possessions- gone that quick. Imagine everything that you have right now being taken away from you - would you feel as if you utilized it all to the best of your ability? Were you being greedy and just wanting more for the sake of it? Or were you appreciate of everything that came your way? Did you stay appreciative or did you let it fade away? Did you let pride get in the way? These are all things God takes into account. He wants to see if you can really handle what you get. “He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much” (Luke 16:10). If God can’t trust you with what you have now, how can He trust you with more? Remember you can’t get over on God. He’s not like man that can be manipulated into things. He knows you inside and out, better than anybody.
A lot of things won’t be around forever but God will. In those times where you are getting sad about what’s not in front of you, remember that you always have God. He is greater than anything. Nothing and no one can compare to the fulfillment He brings. Yes, He blesses us with the natural and spiritual, but that only shows who He is. He is a loving and good Father who takes care of His children. The least we can do is take care of all that He blesses us with.
Praise God for where He brought you & where you are going. You might not can’t see it, but believe in it. Praise now while you have the chance. Praise Him in the midst of it all. Praise Him in every circumstance. Know that He is good and working things together for you. It’s a reason for the places you are in now and the places you’ll soon be going. Cherish the lessons in the present moment. They may be able to help you in your next journey. Let’s not take for granted who He is or take the credit for what He’s done. No matter what you do or don’t have, we have Jesus. Even in the smallest things, He is there and there is nothing more cherished.
